Design Notes:

Many skaters dream of looping a full pipe. We decided to make that dream come true for anyone who wants to step up. That's why we built the funnel tunnel, the first ever concrete, loopable, public full-pipe. Its conical shape connects speed lines to loop lines, bringing 12 o'clock to the masses.

We built the roll-ins to the street area and the bowl for our buddy Skipper, who has muscular dystrophy and cruises around town on an electric scooter. The idea was that he would drive his scooter into the bowl on opening day, but he didn't want to.

Twinkie Goorhuis spearheaded the skatepark fundraising. We came back in 2005 to build the mini-ramp, street additions, and the tight tranny that catches anyone who rolls over the top of the funnel. All the storm water drains into subterranean infiltrator chambers, rather than flooding local waterways.
